Meet the Fastmail family

There's a new About Fastmail page with photos of (all?) employees (scroll to the end).
Seen some old-timers from the first hour: Bron Gondwana, Rob Mueller, Neil Jenkins, Richard Lovejoy.

Interesting (??) fact: the Australian Business Register, pointed to at the very bottom of the "happy family" page states that Fastmail Pty Ltd's trading name is "Opera Software Australia Pty Limited"

A relict of Opera's briefly owning FM??

The Australian Business Number (ABN) on that page is:

31142646580

The ABN Lookup:

https://abr.business.gov.au/AbnHistory/View/31142646580

Shows:

Opera Software Australia Pty Limited - up to 25 Sep 2013
FASTMAIL PTY LTD - from the above date, onwards.

Update on Trading Name:

https://abr.business.gov.au/Help/Glossary#tradingname

Quote:
Since 2012 the Australian Business Register (ABR) stopped collecting or updating trading names. Trading names that were collected prior to 28 May 2012 will continue to be displayed on ABN Lookup until 31 October 2023 but can no longer be updated.

It's the bosses and team leaders I think, but none of the named people are those I hear from in problem tickets.

Only Rob Mueller is "from first hour". Fastmail was founded in 1999 by Jeremy Howard and Rob Mueller.
Bron, Neil and Richard joined later (not necessarily in this order).
Neil actually started as a member of this forum that suggested redesigning the Fastmail webmail interface and was later hired by Fastmail.

Five years ago I met Bron and Neil in person for a meal and beer. I was in Portland Oregon for a business trip, and some of the Fastmail team (Bron, Neil, and Rob Norris) were in the same city for a technical show:

I occasionally exchange emails with them and Rob Mueller, and Richard Lovejoy. Richard has been on the Fastmail team longer than anyone other than Rob Mueller. They are all great people.I have been a Fastmail user for 16 years.

Coincidentally Jeremy Howard was featured on Australian television and other media (ABC, The Guardian et al) promoting the widespread use of masks for protection from the Coronavirus.
