Best way to back up Gmail account?

I use Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos as my main email, file handling, and photo storage solutions, and they work very, very, well. However, being prudent, I like to have backups of everything. Due to my current job/living situation I am unable to maintain local backups of anything on a regular basis so I need to have a cloud-based backup solution. What I am doing now is to utilize another Gmail account to share my email, files, and photos, but that still leaves me entirely dependent on Google services. I would prefer to possibly utilize say an Outlook.com account to mirror my email and files, and possibly the photos if I purchased additional storage. Does anyone do something like this, and does it work well? I have tried to get Outlook.com to import my rather large (5GB) Gmail store, but it doesn't seem to work properly. Most of the Gmail is now in Archive or Sent, as I keep a minimal Inbox with just a few pending items. Outlook.com never seems to import the Archive, no matter what settings I try. How to do this? Or, is there a better cloud-based backup system you use?

I have used this program in the past, but note that it is not a 'cloud-based backup' program. http://broobles.com/imapsize/index.php

See the search results here for more suggestions. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=palemoon&q...ckup%22&ia=web

It may not meet all your requirements, but Google Takeout can drop the archives it creates straight into OneDrive.

Have you tried Takeout to OneDrive? Would require some manual work, but seems like a good option. Do Google Docs get converted to MS Office format?

Tried again today to get Outlook.com to properly sync my Gmail, but it does not. The problem seems to be the All Mail folder from Gmail does not sync over to Outlook.com, and I do have the box checked to show All Mail in IMAP in the Gmail settings. Does anyone know how to get Outlook.com and Gmail to correctly sync?

This may be irrrelevant or obvious in the context of Outlook, but IIRC the actually imap folder name is "[Gmail]/All Mail"

FYI I went a few rounds with an actual human being after reporting the problem via the Outlook.com website, but I was just given instructions as to how to do what I had already tried various times over the course of the past few years. Outlook.com just will not sync properly with Gmail, at least for me. I've had problems with other email services properly syncing with Gmail via IMAP too.
