Shop around for what suits your needs and budget.
That's your decision, of course. On the other hand, many people feel that there are free services that provide everything they need and therefore can't see paying for something that they have no need for. As for what suits the OP's needs and budget, based on his post it might seem safe to assume that "free" is what "best fits" for him, which is why he specifically asked for information about free services, not paid ones.

In which case his options are as someone else pointed out, Gmail or AOL.

Not at all. In fact, AOL doesn't meet his requirements at all. Nor does Gmail, since one of his requirements was that it not be Gmail. But obviously you're a little late and haven't read the entire thread carefully. He went with Zoho.

Thank you everybody for your kind feedback. Just a few words why I exclude Gmail and Gawab, while both meet my requirements: 1° I have already a Gmail account. 2° Gawab is an islamic service based in Egypt which states:
Quote:
Gawab.com do NOT allow the sending or receiving of emails with pornography contents.
Gawab.com is applying advanced technologies in filtering pornographic emails either they came from mailing lists or pornographic websites.
While I personally certainly do not endorse pornographic content, I want to remain free to decide about it. I don't want a mail service decide which mails I should read or not. It's a question of personal freedom.

Otherwise, Zoho mail seems perfect to me. I hope it is reliable.
