There are two types of "email address" you might be referring to:
  • Login (main) address: This is the address which is the name of your account and used for login. You can also receive messages at this address. I'm not sure if this address is immediately available if you close your account - maybe RobN will let us know in this thread.
  • Email alias: You can create additional email aliases which can be used to receive email at your account. My experience is that if you delete an alias it can immediately be used by another account. This is very useful if you own more than one FastMail account and want to move an alias between accounts.

It might be an idea to send a (very nice) message to it, hopefully it will bounce.....

If it does, I doubt you will be refused it (if you ask) - Fastmail rarely refuses requests from paying customers..

Of course, you could always send a message to Fastmail support, and ask.
