Is there any chance to get info about 'when?'?
I have to make some decisions and if i could get any informations about when carddav could be issued. It would help me to make some decisions i have to make near future.

My guess was somewhere in 2015, so if happens in 2014, that would be great!

A year ago, I was expecting a viable beta by 1st Qtr 2014. The further delay in a long urgently needed feature has been a disappointment.

I did nothing special, I just added a new "Other" account, LDAP account.

server: ldap.messagingengine.com
user: cn=user@domain.tld,dc=User
pass: password
Description: FastMail

where user@domain.tld is your FastMail full username, and password, guess...

Then you need to setup search settings:
- remove automatic setup search settings
- add search settings:
-> Base: dc=AddressBook
-> Description: AddressBook
-> Search scope: Subtree

Turns out it used not to work due to a limitation on the way iOS handle secure LDAP. It seems it is now solved.

Enjoy!

CarDav not working for me

I added the account as above, all seems good.
Except when I go to contacts, none there.
And looking at Groups in contacts, try to select the FM group, and fails. Defaults back to existing contacts only.
Are we sure its working?

Carddav still not implemented...

We really need this, fastmail can't compete with gmail without even CARDDAV.

This is the reason why I still use Gmail

I need email, calender, contact, tasks, notes sync

Not only that even the gmail apps very good and fastmail apps still long way to go

Looking forward for fastmail can be better than gmail for all

Agreed. I am feeling a bit stupid for paying for five years of premium without a contacts solution.

I have to manually type in the phone number every time I want to call someone or send SMS. And the LDAP doesn't work for me at all on Android.

Indeed.

Since fastmail mention will not have activesync.

Someone mention about mailbox.org and I go create a trail acc and test their activesync caldav and carddav. Everything work perfectly.

Fastmail are too slow..
