Individual Users Can Now Be on Different Plans

Although I can't find any official announcement for this yet, it looks like Fastmail has quietly rolled out a change that will (finally!) allow you to have each of your users on a different plan in a multi-user account.

According to Fastmail's Pricing Page:

Quote:
You can build an account where you mix and match the plan level to each user. For example, you can build a Fastmail Family by adding additional Standard and Basic plans for adults and children.
It also looks like users on the "Basic" plan can also now use custom domains as long as they're part of an account being managed by a Standard or Professional tier user...

Quote:
If you have a Standard or Professional plan with your own domain, you can share a domain alias with any Basic users on your account.

I wonder if this means that people on the legacy family and business plans will be forced to switch to the current offerings in the near future.

I guess this is more appropriate nowadays, with families and businesses having to be more careful about spending, while the needs for online presence grows, including young children that now "attend school" from home, small businesses that have have to go online and many more people working from home.

Bravo FM... just saw this on the website News, and came here to see if folks were talking about it. Don't know what in the world they were thinking with the old policy of forcing groups to all be at the same service level. Finally I can seriously think about getting FM Basic accounts for my kids.

I hope not, but we probably will. I have a family plan with one basic account, which allows me to manage domains for $15/year. If I'm forced to switch that goes up to $50/year since a Standard account would be required to manage domains.
