Hi Greve,

Thank for making yourself available to answer questions about Mykolab here.

One thing that I do not understand with Mykolab:

How can signing up for an email address at Mykolab.com require that one provide an already existing email address? It is like the bank asking for bank statements from the previous bank when signing up for a bank account.

What if I do not care about password recovery options but would instead prefer to sign-up without providing another email address? Gmail always nagged me to provide alternative contact options which I would always decline for privacy's sake. Surely the invoices for the use of Mykolab can be sent to the Mykolab email account itself that I am creating?

Another analogy: I want to rent a house, so the invoices for the rent are to be sent to another address of mine? That does not make sense in real world logic (at least in my part of the world, perhaps in Switzerland this is the norm?)

So could you make this possible please? Make this “Existing Email Address” field optional.

I am looking forward to using your service.
Thank you.

Joe G.

ps. I originally posted this as a comment on your blog but perhaps that was not the correct place for this, it is now 'awaiting moderation'.

Here is his reply (sharing here for the benefit of all interested):

The primary use case is password reset. Which, frankly, happens surprisingly often. So there must be an automated way for this. But then you’re right, having alternative paths would be better, so we’ll be working to provide those. It was just a matter of what was easiest to implement first.

Looking forward to having you on MyKolab.com!
