Disappearing email

It is years since I had to use this forum so I am delighted that it is still going strong.

Here is my problem. I was working on a long email in DRAFTS when (presumably because I pressed a wrong key) the whole letter disappeared and only half a word was left on the screen. I tried all of FM's recovery options but with no success and spent an hour re-typing the message. I remember this sort of thing happening years ago but not lately. I have no idea what I did wrong.

So the big questions are "what did I do wrong for this to happen" and "how can I prevent it in the future"?

Any help would be appreciated.

All the best and keep safe,
Hank

Can't say what key you hit to delete most of it but weren't you doing frequent saves of the draft as you were constructing it to be able to recover most of it?

Saves!

No I wasn't, unfortunately. I guess I got used to FM automatically saving messages into drafts every few seconds. I thought that as soon as I started editing the draft it was the same as being in COMPOSE. I'll know better next time - I hope.

I assume you immediately tried the UNDO key (CTRL-Z) a couple of times. If that did not work, I would be concerned, and consider submitting a problem report.

Are you using iOS? If so, you might want to look at this possibly related thread: http://www.emaildiscussions.com/showthread.php?t=76924

Deletions

Nice to see that you are still helping people, BritTim.
I am using Windows 10. Yes, I tried CTR Z and all the other ways of restoring, but to no avail. I'll take your advice and post a problem.
Cheers!
