Search in new design
I logged on yesterday to find a new design with Mailbox Search missing the All checkbox and Advanced link.
Can anyone tell me where to find them? Not the Help, sadly. Thanks. |

I racked my brain on advanced search for two entire days.
I submitted a help ticket on the support site but no responses. Not even the old syntax like "from:email@address.com" works any more. There is no such thing as Advanced Search in the New UI. What a load of BS. |

Odd, works for me. I just did a "from:user@address.com" and it worked fine.

If you enter some text in the search field and press return it will search the current mailbox. If you then look at the top of the mailbox listing you will see a new control has appeared. You now have the ability to search All or a selected mailbox.

It looks like Stored Searches has gone too. This is fatal for me. I have had to switch back to classic. And I found the option to do that only after a long search, and by accident. Other users: it is on the login screen. EDIT: Now I read on http://blog.fastmail.fm/2012/10/30/n...ns-rolled-out/ that this is the new interface that has been in beta ... for one year. Have these search features been missing for a year with no-one noticing?? |

Hi Chris,
I'm guessing that a localised search in the current folder is less intensive than an 'All' search, only after not finding what you are after you can then extend the search to all of your mail? Generally I have an idea where to look, but that will depend on how you have your mail organised. I have lots of rules running filing the email into folders. Easily missed though, as for the beta server I hardly ever use it. Regards Alan |
