Pobox is merging to Fastmail

Going to be difficult for me I have accounts with both FM & Pobox.

I have emailed support to ask how they are going to deal with this.

I've no idea how other Pobox users feel about it, but for me it seems good
I was a Fastmail member since day 1 and owned a Pobox basic account too (all mails sent to my Pobox address were forwarded to my Fastmail account.)
Several years ago I upgraded my Pobox basic account to Pobox Mailstore and cancelled my Fastmail account. (Pobox Mailstore gave me double storage for the same price, and I needed it...)
Now Fastmail offers the same storage as Pobox provides, but has many more features, so I'm quite happy to hear the news

I wonder if they will keep the forwarding only option of POBox Basic? It doesn't appear you can sign up for such a plan with FM.

Well, just now I've received an email from Pobox letting me know that next month "all Pobox users, including you, will be upgraded to Fastmail."
There's a link to the detailed help page which Berenburger already posted here yesterday.

I see that option for users who are being migrated from POBox Basic to Fastmail Lite, but it only includes the option for one personal domain. Also, I don't see Fastmail Lite as an option for new signups anywhere.

Customers subscribed to Pobox Basic plan will be migrated to the Fastmail Lite plan. This plan comes with IMAP/POP/SMTP access, webmail access, 500 MB of mail storage quota per user, and up to 60 aliases. You'll also get calendars and contacts on the web & Fastmail app, plus 100 MB of file storage.

We've added a bonus to the Fastmail Lite plan for Pobox customers: if you have a custom domain on your Pobox account, you will be able to continue using your domain at Fastmail at no extra cost. You can upgrade to a Fastmail Standard plan if you?d like to add more domains.

This plan will cost $24 per year.

This Fastmail Lite plan is for only pobox migrators. I would love to get that plan since my email usage is very low.

Sounds rather sad to me, and these sentences stood out:

One of the most common concerns I heard from Pobox customers was "the support won't be as good." The great news is that it's just one support team that's been supporting both products, so the same great support is going to be there for you.

The reason I stopped using POBox and Fastmail was because of lousy customer service! If I am paying for a service I expect better than days of wait times when something is broken on their end that prevents me from using the service. Happened to me on both POBox and FM. In both cases, the people responding seemed to be in Australia, based on when they would send messages, and that meant something would arrive in the middle of my night, and by the time I answered it they were gone for the day. Frustrating!

Same for proton. When you email them for help, they'll respond that night you in bed. When you reply to their question. you have to wait until the next day to get a response.
