Old thread - Edwin's New Email Service
Hi All!
It looks like our very own moderator and site chieftain, Edwin, is offering his own free-email service through Everyone.net. A brand, spanking-new offering, it probably means lots of desirable usernames are still available. A great domain name too: emailaccount.com ! Check it out at: http://www.emailaccount.com/ And no, Edwin didn't put me up to writing this post, ha-ha!! http://www.emailaddresses.com/ubb/cool.gif |

Sadly it says SIGNUPS ARE DISABLED for "emailaccount.com"
I wouldnt have minded getting one there! Seems like no place offers FREE email anymore, probably due to spamming idiots.... |

This thread is 21 years old. There are probably people reading this forum who weren’t born when the thread started! So it would be very unlikely for such a free service to still be around.
The problem with any “free” service is how to finance the operation. Back 20 years ago, a few services used free trial accounts for their paid services. But with email this causes many problems, since spammers and scammers will grab such accounts. The only way to have a “free” service long term is to have a lot of advertising, such as what you see on over the air television, YouTube, and other services. But with email the spam/scam issues don’t make this practical. Bill |

The website everyone.net is up and running and it seems like they're still offering email services. The "problem" is that you may know of email services that were hosted by Everyone.net without knowing that they hosted the service.
Back in the days you could also find services who had a subdomain of Everyone.net, thus @subdomain.everyone.net ; not sure if those are still available. |
