New Android app crashing constantly.
Hi,
The previous version ran flawlessly. This one crashes all the time and slows down my phone. It has even prevented other apps from being updated. The problem is even more severe since the last Android update (8.0.0). Please fix or make the old version available. Thanks. |

Posting here will make no difference. You need to go to the Fastmail support sit and file a ticket with details:

Good. I only use the iOS app and web systems, so I can respond to your issues.
Fastmail in general has a two-level support system. The first level of support will directly respond to you about common questions about the use of their app or website or configuration questions. If there is a known bug they will let you know. But if it’s an unknown bug they will pass the issue to the developer team. Then someone such as Neil Jenkins and his team will work on the problem, and the developers may ask you for more details directly. I met Neil and Bron in 2015 in Portland Oregon when they were attending a software meeting and I was at a different event associated with my employer. They have a great passion for their projects. If it kills your battery, Settings -> Battery will show the task responsible. It might be "fastmail". If it's Android OS, that's a System process.
I had that problem with Inoreader on three Android 5/6 devices. It was "zygote" creating tasks. They claim to have fixed it (not). They said Google required background tasks to use a different API (a few months ago). I just uninstalled and use FeedMe instead. Are there any similar experiences in the App reviews on Play Store? High CPU (over 50%) causes battery drain and prevents apps from being updated and installed. Last edited by EricG : 11 Feb 2019 at 05:25 AM. Reason: added high CPU note |

The iOS app is working fine on my iPad. This is not an unknown problem given the number of similar reports on the Google Play store. While they are researching the bug, it would be nice if they could make the previous version available. I'm wondering whether they regularly have a look there. |

Hi,
It seems that clearing the cache, deleting the app data, uninstalling and re-installing makes the application more stable. I didn't observe any crash since then. |
