Ost extension file

This is my first post so here goes: I urgently need to open .ost extension file. But when i try to open the file this message pops up: Access denied.
Can anyone advise what could have caused this?

Welcome to the EMD Forums!

First you might try:
Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost)

The OST file might be marked as read-only, and if so you probably want to uncheck that setting.

OST files are not really designed to be imported, but evidently there are work-arounds. See:

I think there may be some OST to PST conversion programs.
