I opened an account about two weeks ago. I've not used it for anything other than testing with my other accounts.

It would be fine between 1click users but anyone else trying to email you will be, not happy. Too many hoops to jump for your contact before 1click will deliver the mail to you.

Oddly enough, the contact is also signed up for an account after the hoop jumping.

Sending a message from 1click results in your contact following a link - then a password to unencrypt the message.

Should be a very secure system as your mail never leaves their server and is encryped at all times.

It is highly unlikely a business or a contact that does not know the drill will respond to your message.

Confusing. Yes.

This is tied to Singapore-based "VPN1Click" (Bravotel/Kryptotel), which is basically a third-party encryption tunnel app primarily used to unblock IP address restrictions (although the website states the mail service is based in Dubai), and is available for iOS, Windows, and Linux (as well iPhone and Android for mobile applications). I have used both the Windows and Android versions, and for the most part the Android app is flawless. People who are still running Gingerbread (or any version of Android prior to ICS) can circumvent the AT&T Wireless restrictions in regards to Google Hangouts (for example) with a simple protocol change, but any later version is primarily restricted to wi-fi, although there is a workaround in later versions where a native (to the app) browser window can be opened, although at times it can be sluggish and websites that are Flash and/or HTML-5 dependent at times do not play well.

FWIW, both Mail!Click and VPN1Click websites show in Flagfox as based in Germany.

As far as the mail service is concerned, it has existed for a while now, although I was "volunteered" into an account about three weeks ago in a similar fashion, after purchasing a subscription for my son's laptop (Win7). It appears that it supports only web mail, with the exceptions of client apps available for Windows, Chrome (browser app), and Android. As someone who is heavily dependent on the IMAP protocol, I have yet to give this a serious test-drive. It looks like it may be time to do so, however 25mB is the limit on free space, with 1gB or 10gB available on a subscription basis, and folder management is yet to be determined.

Will report back once I get further into this...
