Field 'body' in 'note' cannot contain control characters

Just wondering what this means? Trying to save a note, but it just reverts to the earlier version of it and the title message pops up at the bottom.

I have never seen this message, but it ought to mean that there is a non printable character in your note that FastMail does not allow. Are you trying to enter characters in a foreign language?

Is the OP pasteing in some text from elsewhere? If so it might contain literal tab characters, carriage return or linefeed - all of which are invisible but are classed as 'control characters'.

Hi people.

Yes, I am pasting in, but they were straight URLs. When this happened, I made sure there were no weird characters. I deleted all blanks.

Is there maybe a limit to how large the notes can get? It may have been a few hundred lines.

Actually, I checked, and it was a bit over 2000 lines.

When pasting the text, did you use Paste (Ctrl-V) or Paste as plain text (Shift-Ctrl-V)? In the former case, there can be invisible formatting control characters that can create problems.

OK, I can now replicate it with just one line. When I look at the line in Notepad++, I see the letters FF (marked in white) at the end. So that must be the culprit.
