Mail.ru is great alternative of Gmail IMO.
It has an english interface. If you don't like the domain name, you can use your own domain. |

And if you want suggestions for the best e-mail address format, you've come to the right place - this question has been asked (and answered) on the forum many times.
Just perform a search . . . |

Outlook (imho) is a better, safer way to go than GMail.

You know, if this thread goes on long enough Agx will achieve 100 posts and qualify for a free EuMX account from Fabule (assuming he's still handing them out). Some here may feel that EuMX is better than both of the other providers mentioned.

Yes, Outlook.com is "better" than Gmail:
Microsoft is not a marketing company. They actually make products you can buy. I have more trust in them with the privacy of personal data. They have a stated privacy policy to not serve targeted ads in their webmail client. You will see non-personal ads, but pay $20 per year to remove them. You have unlimited storage for email. you can sync your contacts and calendars (and share calendars, too). Apps for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone. Yes, Outlook.com is "better" than EUMX: See above regarding Outlook.com. With EUMX, you can sync contacts and calendars, but not share calendars. However, syncing is not easily accomplished as you have to know what you are doing using third-party software. Cheers |

@Agx: may I add Yandex to the list of GREAT alternatives for Gmail??
It is an outstanding FREE email service and for sure on par with Gmail. It has pop3,Imap.SMTP...also their inhouse Android app etc...etc... Their web interface can also be set in English language, among others. Dutchie. |

That's an odd thing to say, seeing as EuMX supports Exchange Activesync. Plus it's pretty lame to demand an Office 365 subscription if you want support for personal domains.

I think that the only problem of Outlook is the recycling of username if you don't access to the webmail, there is the risk to obtain an username that is used in past from another user.

I do not want to seem like I am putting down EUMX or any other email service. However, not all services cater to each persons' use cases or scenarios. It's great we have so many options!
I can vouch for GMX, Hushmail, EUMX, Mail1Click, Outlook / Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo and a few others I am forgetting because I have or have had accounts there. They each have their pros and cons. Just depends on your usage and privacy requirements, and trust. |
