Question Incoming mail delayed for 0.5-1hr on runbox servers

Today I received ~ 10 mails delayed for 30-60 mins on runbox servers.
How often does it happen ?

Not often at all. At that particular time we had a rare server problem that affected email delivery as well. We're currently in the process of acquiring additional hardware to avoid similar problems occurring in the future.

PleX,

If those messages were received by Runbox we'd be interested in the message headers to determine whether the delay occurred within the Runbox system or on some other server.

I personally have experienced several-minute to half-hour delays on emails every once in a while, but nothing on the magnitude of 10 to 15 hours! That sounds highly irregular. Forwarding Geir some of those mails, with original headers intact, could perhaps give him a chance to hopefully eliminate the bottleneck, if the delays are indeed on Runbox's end.

At the bottom right of the Service Status page click "More...". At the bottom "More Actions" page click the "View differences" button to see all the changes since revision 1.1 of the page.

All Realmetrics data is as correct as their methods of measurement. You probably should refer to their information:

http://www.realmetrics.com/about/faq.jsp

Rich

wow i found 6 disasters in this month. probably much more than most of free email services in my country.
(off: as i am soft-dev myself, i'd suggest you stop adding features and fix existence ones. nobody can
develop extensive and intensive at one time. and also those 10Gb boxes probably killing you.
sorry for bad English.)

Sounds like you might be interpreting the statistics wrong, or you have a unique definition of the word "disaster".

Yeah, right. Disasters can't happen often. Downtime is not disaster anymore

According to this RealMetrics graph we've had 100% uptime during the past 30 days, which is correct aside from the 2-hour limited accessibility last Sunday.

Otherwise we've only had problems with outgoing email delivery, which was related to a configuration issue on a replacement server.

So, I've got email delayed by 5 hrs!
It is not disaster, right ?
What does realmetrics show now ? 100% uptime again ?
