Blocked for 24hr for forgetting my password?

Well, lastpass seemed to forget it, so I went through recovery, got the code to my phone, all good I thought.....

Then this little pearl.....

"For security reasons, it will take 24 hours before your new password can be used. It will take effect at 08:28 on Wednesday, 18 October 2017."

What?

After using fastmail for 12 years, recommending to a bunch of family and friends, I cop this. Why?

How can I access my email prior to tomorrow?

Wow that is strange I had no idea you had to wait 24 hours.

Presumably it is because I reset the password yesterday also. I was just doing a routine password change, which I try and do every few months, and use lastpass, so the password would be a 30 char random string.
Lastpass didn't prompt to save the new pword, and conveniently erased it from the clipboard also, before I could paste it, so I needed a password reset yesterday - there was no 24hr delay then. Now I get to work today, and lastpass has not saved it overnight. Who knows why???

In any case, I reset it again, using a code sent to my phone, and now I'm sidelined for 24hr....

We pay a lot for our family's email, especially compared to what we could get for free, and find this really quite unacceptable.....

If the affected account is a family account (but not the MasterUser) you can access the Inbox indirectly by logging in to the MasterUser, selecting Settings->Users, and clicking Open Inbox against the account that has the issue. From there, you can navigate anywhere within the account as normal.
If it is an independent individual account, and you do not have an external mail client set up with an App password, I am not aware of any immediate solution.
