Question 30gigs.com

http://www.30gigs.com yep, that's right. They plan on giving 30 gigs of storage for free. Why you would need that much is beyond me, unless your going to download the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS! Seems to work well though...still in beta and by invite only and I've got 9 to give away so email me at glebarrAT30gigsDOTcom and I'll send one...

Thanks to Glebarr, I have invites to give away.

It is an interesting service. 2 mb attachments are small but, hopefully this will change. The spam free email icon could be very handy.

The interface (of the homepage) looks interesting. I wonder what it looks like INSIDE...

Request sent!

The main site design is a premade template design purchased off template monster or its affiliates (http://www.templatehelp.com/interfac...=F6F6F6&page=0) so I would expect the webmail interface to be similar to the content page design on the template site. Very "sparse", actually. Does anyone else see a link anywhere to general "options" or "preferences"?

Perhaps to help ensure that no one ever comes anywhere near actually using any significant portion of their 30 gigs?

In the footer of the service's pages: "Notice: We collect personal information on this site". Ummmmm...... Also is the privacy policy stated there pretty much standard with free mail services?

I'm leery of new services whose main selling point is some monster storage quota. Alot of them have come and gone over the past 16 months or so.

It looks fascinating for sure, but how are they going to stay in business when they give away 30 GB for free per user?? I mean, which company can afford that unless they overflow your screen with ads?
