Fastmail forty minute delay delivering mail this morning

Hello.

This morning, it appears that Fastmail is experiencing some type of issue that delays incoming mail delivery by at least forty minutes.

This is most annoying because I use one of my FM accounts for 2FA for a couple of websites. Of course, by the time the PIN arrives, it is already stale and unusable.

Never had this happen before.

Is anyone else experiencing the same delay?

Common misery is the solace of fools.

I did get a 503 error page this morning when I tried to check my mail using the web UI. I thought about firing up my email client and trying that, but just decided to wait an hour or so.

I'm getting what appears to be a 5 minute delay... Incoming only, not outgoing.

Look at https://status.fastmail.com and you will see the following:

At 15:49:02 UTC:
We’re currently experiencing issues that will cause interrupted service. We do not expect any mail to be lost. We are currently investigating.

At 17:10:15 UTC:
Access to Fastmail services has been restored. System status is currently normal for all users. We're continuing to monitor the situation. Some users will experience residual delays with mail delivery. No mail has been lost.

Thank you, all.

It seems to be back to normal (the PINs aren't delivered stale).

By the way, according to a friend of mine, something similar has been happening with his GMail and AOL (yes, AOL) accounts -- probably pure coincidence.

DownDetector shows that Google related services (such as Gmail) and a number of other sites had issues earlier today (Dec 1 US time) as well as Fastmail. These appear to be spikes with quick recoveries:

Apparently something was going on early today based on Twitter. They report it as resolved.
