Improvement of "Default Personality"

Hello,

When you compose a new message, the default personality is always chosen.

However, when you receive mail "TO" an address that is not any of your personalities, it defaults to the fastmail username address when you respond (instead of the default email address, which for many people is NOT the same as the username address).

I would think that the "default personality" should apply to both situations:
1. new compositions
2. responses in which the original "to" is not any of the personalities.

Just wanted to recommend this change. Thanks!

It's more complicated than that. Here's some heavy reading on the subject. You might want to get at least 12oz of your favorite beverage handy first.

It refers to 'folder personality', which if you are not aware, refers to the ability to set a default personality per folder on the Options - Folders screen.

I use the 'always original' setting on the Options - Preferences screen. And set folder personalities for my multiple inboxes, such as personal, work, etc.
