I don't see it as a 'promise', if you also take into consideration their first 2 points in their FAQ's:
https://www.pobox.com/faq I expect though that many people will treat that 'email for life' as set in stone, and so I daresay Fastmail will get grief about it as they did back in 2017: https://www.emaildiscussions.com/showthread.php?t=72418 |

I noticed that Helen Horstmann-Allen, who came along when Fastmail acquired POBox.com, is no longer listed on the management team of FM. She was the COO of Fastmail. https://www.fastmail.com/company/about/
Having worked for another email service provider with many Australian clients I can say that it is very difficult for US teams to collaborate with those down under because of the time difference. I had to stay up until midnight or 2am to be able to cover some of their day, and after a couple of years I thought I was going to die from sleep deprivation. Where I live it was very hard to sleep after about 6am-7am because the neighbors would start moving trash cans or begin leaf blowing, plus everyone else in the household was up and about. |

Also are out of staff: Rob Norris and Nicola Nye. Although, they are from Australia. |

Yes - a lot of changes going on... Looks like Rob Mueller seems to be more in business than before... He now s the CTO of the company and it looks like he is much more in focus.

Shoot, is FM no longer run by the devs? I remember meeting Robert Norris (and Bron) as OScon in Oregon USA several years ago and being told how their flat hierarchical dev-run management style worked very well.

Why do you think so?
I see here Rob Mueller, one of the two original founders, and also Bron Gondwana and Neil Jenkins: both joined the team many many years ago, and developed the product from very early versions. |

Just for the record, another month has gone by with no POBox.com signup available. I believe this has been the case since January.
