A List of Browser Extensions That Harvest Your Info

It's not just Stylish that spies on you.

https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/browse...move-dataspii/
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/unsafe...ox-extensions/

The affected Firefox extensions are as follows:

SaveFrom.net Helper
FairShare Unlock
SuperZoom

The affected Chrome extensions include two of the same, plus a number of others:

FairShare Unlock
SuperZoom
Hover Zoom
SpeakIt!
PanelMeasurement
Branded Surveys
Panel Community Surveys

If you install any of these extensions in your browser, they could collect information on you such as:

Usernames
Passwords
Credit card information
Gender
Personal interests
GPS location
Tax returns
Travel itineraries
Genealogy
Genetic profiles

If you install the extensions on a computer at your workplace, they could also collect information about your company, including company memos, firewall access codes, API keys, and more.

I have uninstalled many extensions from FF because of the security risk and the slowdowns.

It's not only browser extensions that spy but devices like Echo and Alexa have been caught sending info to the main company. Your personal info is more valuable than gold to the data companies.

The only firefox extension from that list is "SaveFrom.net Helper". That's because those articles are old and Mozilla removed the other two!

When you install SaveFrom, firefox say it requires four permissions that clearly can access your data. Buyer beware!

So extensions are just like Android and iOS apps, the permissions are clearly stated. Windows apps have no such guarantees, your only protection is anti-virus.
