The forum used to be much more active before social media exploded. Still, the old-timers are around...

A good intention for 2020. Less EMD.

I've noticed a pattern over the years, that at any holiday time, there is less interaction on the forum.

Putting that to one side . . .

For many years, the forum was Fastmail centric, but due to the abuse their employees (and some of them long standing forum members) encountered from the more "entitled" on the forum, they have stayed away.

Result: Not only were the "entitled" now just hissing in the wind, but the mainstream forum members also lost this valuable channel to Fastmail.

I don't suppose that Fastmail have suffered in any way - they now have their own support department, and no need of this forum.

Still, I regularly visit the forum because, even if Fastmail don't participate, there is still that backbone of valued members that keep us all "in the know" about, not only Fastmail, but other providers.

And long may that continue!

I check in (or at least try to) everyday. Don't post much anymore.

Hehe, every time I see that Reminder at the top I have this urge to say something, I am retired sailor, I resist it though. LOL

Yep. Social media and the rise of E2EE chat platforms. While email remains the foundation of documented communications in our workplace, we are looking towards Riot/Matrix to replace all forms of intranet and internet communications within four years. And as I mentioned in a previous post, it has been nearly five years since I last logged into EMD before today .
