POP - Retrieving email from Outlook.Com

I moved my HotMail A/c to Outlook.Com, but am now having problems in setting up a
POP link in Fastmail to retrieve mail sent to Hotmail/Outlook.Com.

Can anyone help please with:-

The server name - or how to find it;
The best port to use; and
Anything else which I should know

Why am I doing this you might ask? Because I wanted to secure my "name" at Outlook.Com.

Many thanks

NJSS

That help tells how to configure POP/IMAP accounts in the Outlook Office Client, and not how to configure other mail clients to get mail from the Outlook.com servers.

Use the Live.com settings will fulll address login.

POP3 server: pop3.live.com (port 995)
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (port 25)

Worth looking at has aliases etc...

I will stay with FM though unless there are some distasous changes such as purchase by FaceBook or something similar, or the Ajax interface being forced on us.

Maybe I am derailing this thread now.

Here in Sweden that is almost true.
I buy most of my food at two stores.
They keep record of exactly what I buy
and keep that for a long time.

Now I don't know if it is somewhere on internet
it can be a intranet that is local to the chain of stores
but them are all over Sweden so for to make it economically
for the company I trust that buy a VPN server from some big
operator and that a hashed version fo what I buy goes over
the internet servers but is only in plain text on the intranet
that is using the internet so

it is almost correct.

Maybe your Mom teased you by some understatement.

What she really said where this. Not everything is on the net.
Check out if you can see if Dad really bought what I told him to.

She teased you maybe? Or is she that trusty? Anyway send her
a friendly thought from a trusty Drew over in Sweden.

Is anybody successfully retrieving their @outlook.com emails into Fastmail?

If so, can you share the settings? I've tried pop3.live.com and pop-mail.outlook.com and neither seems to be working (authentication errors). I have enabled POP retrieval at Outlook.com.

Thanks.
