Anyone can sign up currently.com?

I saw they say providing free mail. I tried with my ATT mobile number, but sign up failed.

I never heard of this service before. When browsing to www.currently.com, I end up on what seems to be the main page of Yahoo. Guess that indicates that if there would be indeed an email service, it's just going to be a Yahoo account with a different domain.

Hi, I've been off the forum for a month so I didn't see your reply before now (I have a huge backlog of internet work, having prioritised on my new job the last months)

Since I didn't see your question until now, I didn't try yet to sign up for a currently.com account. If you still want me to try, let me know.
I have enough email accounts as it is, if I'd get another one spontaneously it'd be a paid one with own domain, rather than a Yahoo-owned one. But I'd be happy to open one for the sake of testing if it works. So just let me know if you still want me to take the test.
