I still have an account, but do not like the service. The ads are obnoxious for one thing. I've heard that some have had their accounts hacked, so I wonder about how good is their security. They still have a big user base, but I think more highly developed services like Gmail are getting more new sign ups.

Well i advise you to try out their internal search engine in Mail. It's like Gmail boolean queries for the masses with options to refine a search. Very good. The dropbox integration is nice as well and let's be honest, the service is quite fast compare to say, Gmail.
But really nothing beats Outlook.com's EAS support and Skype integration. Caldav and Carddav highly suck, really : unfriendly for the masses and battery sucking protocols. I am not closing my eyes on Yahoo just yet. They're working on WebRTC with a new messenger on the way. This may mean huge upgrade of mail with voice and video support, who knows |
