I like some classical music but I need a dummies guide. The list of works means nothing to me, I know and like certain pieces when I hear them but have no idea of the names. What I really need is something like "The best of Mozart" or "Beethoven's greatest hits"

Malc, it's taken me some years to even feel like I'm a beginner in understanding the realm of classical music, and I've been putting some time into it; listening, studying, comparing...so you're not the only one.
It wouldn't surprise me if they had a Dummies guide to classical music. I would need that for sure. |

Hi Lisa, if you find a dummies guide let me know. I like to listen to classical music just occasionally so I don't really want to take time studying it.

Hey Malc,
There is. Classical Music for Dummies And I have this one. It's good if you're looking for the most familiar works, which is a good start and all but I'm not sure it goes into explaining the basics well, like the Dummies book would. |
