When does Zuckerberg get back from his honeymoon? Things won't move before he has his say.

It was a joke. Tsunami is a well-known contributor here.

That was a joke too. Your upload:download ratio of 'sense of humor' seems >1.

For me, the best part of FM is the support.

I get that simplicity is important for you versus reliability.

So, you have it. But if you want to replace FM as your dns host you can do it w/o yet deciding your email host. Your registrar likely gives access to all recs you listed, so host DNS there. Your MX would then be pointed at FM or elsewhere. If you have the web hosting records at FM or elsewhere, it's up to you; but as long as you have an active FM subacription, why not use it for the public data. Use the time to shop around.

I feel it is more reliable to use registrar DNS than FM because if FM is down you can't update DNS short of yanking ALL records to another host (and probably waiting days for all to propagate).

Oops. I wondered that, but couldn't tell. Gotta work on that ratio!

Opera has an odd history of screwing with me. It all started 3 days after I purchased my copy of their browser, only to have them go freeware..

Did they offer any money back?

Yes that is very important and that is something I have to admit I seem to overlook, but It's not until you start to look for an alternative that you realise just how good Fastmail is with all the features and benefits I just take for granted.

As much as I like Fastmail, their support has never worked too well for me personally, and they're slower to respond than many similarly priced companies. Their feature set is hard to beat though.

The best part of ANY supplier of ANY product is the support.

I concur with petergh, perhaps in recent times it's not been as quick as it used to be.

Compare that to George and PolarisMail - quick and willing to respond personally.

I honestly didn't ask; I was probably too embarrassed for not researching it first. I'm the type of person who would develop a complex comparison spreadsheet for buying a toaster oven.

Support isn't as important as the product itself. (A garbage product with great customer service is still a garbage product.)

And comparing Fastmail's user base to support staff ratio to that of a one-man operation is not exactly apples to apples.

My take on a01's post.

Don't recall that I was comparing user base to support staff ratio, but the end result?
