Spam in PM

I've received spam via a private message here on the forum, anyone else being spammed?

Yes, something about hunters and cameras.

That's right.

I can't see a way to report spam in PM, so I've added this spammer to my ignore list - I don't know if that will block them for the future, though.

The same post was (shortly) visible here on the forum. I reported it as spam.

I got 2 PM's today from the same person, offering me the chance to claim "$4.600 million dollars" in an Advance Fee Scam.

And I'm wondering, because he contacted me twice, does that mean I get two shares of the money?

I received it too. I'm always amazed that these obvious scams keep coming. Apparently they are somewhat successful or else wouldn't be worth the trouble.

Chasing and deleting spammers is proving problematic. It is not simply a matter of a blanket ban which suffices in other cases.

For those members who are receiving spam PM's the best I can offer is for you to send them to me via PM and I will endeavour to block them. But I may well have to do it on a case by case basis.

Regards,

Jeff
