Disk Quota Exceeded

hi there,

What happens when the disk quota is exceeded?
Will the messages be bounced, saved, backuped?
Also, on that issue, Liz: are there any three-year
discounts considered for extra disk space? If so,
I would be willing to pay if the price is reasonable.

cheers,

linuz

There is one when you sign up for 3 years of mail service. But if you are a lifetime member, then, I guess it is more economical to get another mailbox ...

Hi linuz,

When you exceed your disk quota, any messages you receive will bounce. You will, however, automatically receive a message when your storage allocation is close to being full so you should be able to take measures to ensure that your account does not go over quota. If you are really concerned about exceeding your quota, it might be worth buying some more space.

bounced without warning

hajonez,

the thing is that I didn't receive any warning message
the mailbox got crowded overnight (because I forgot
to discard a pile of outgoing mail), and when I logged
on next morning my daily diet of emails was not there
yet the good thing is that since then I'm receiving less
spam as most of it was bounced by default, and those
who really wanted to reach me tried more than once :-)

cheers,

linuz

Hi Linuz,

You may be interested in this page:

http://docs.runbox.com/en/info/prices.doc

Especially this: Special promotion with 200 MB for 3 years - USD 69.95

The alternative is Extra disk space, 100 MB - USD 24.95 (yearly fee) . If you are thrifty like me, their special promotion is a good deal.

I hope that is what you were looking for.

True, it currently doesn't warn you ahead...but the disk space usage graph is quite prominent, I think? Mailed warnings at 95% or so is coming though!

Ooops - I thought that mailed warnings were currently sent out. Sorry for giving you the wrong information, linuz.

As Liz says, the bar showing your disk quota usage is fairly prominently displayed so you just have to make sure that you keep your eye on it. Although it's fairly obvious, the best way to stay under quota is to regularly ensure that you have enough space to hold the incoming mail volumes you are expecting.
