Hi,PUBBOX,

Once I maintained the mail system which has 180 million users on it.I also did lots of antispam works against the spammers.I think when you enable user level's spam-training,then you should only keep the Bayes effective on user level,not system level.Then even there's some a bad user who try to cheat your Bayes,it should only affect his action,not the whole system's action.

No one is training on system level here (except PUBBOX staff).

Nevertheless i incorporate training databases from trusted users to a more global one, so they make profit of each other. This is not an easy task, but as long as no one can pollute it blindly it generates a very effective scanner.

I have even ideas about grouping people, if they organize themselves. Then they would train directly a database dedicated to the whole group.
Fully implemented on system level, but there is no fronted to set it up.

The set of availble ciphers on PUBBOX and Mail.app maybe disjoint.
I am now concentrating on adding more ciphers here, to resolve this.

hang on... in the meantime you may want to use port 24/25 without SSL. It is not clear if Mail.app will ever be able to use SSL on ports 24/25, because i expect STARTTLS there.

Thank you for looking into my problem! I know from our other communications that you are willing to spend real time and effort for your users. That's rare, even with paid providers.

PS: When I use Port 25, my ISP takes it over and uses its own SMTP server.

that's bad. NO ISP should do this.

I would also suggest you provide service on the submission port, port 587 with TLS. That is the current 'standard' way to do it any many modern (non-Microsoft) mail clients are easily configured for that. The wrapped port approach used in SMTPS seems to get less attention now.

I played recently over an hour with Macos-X.

Mail.app is even not able to use plain SMTP on the PUBBOX.
Looks like CRAM_MD5, NTLM are not supported (at least not on this Mac). Mail.app simply does not state what it does, and why it does not work. I could see communications on port 25 with tcpdump, but no authentication occured.

Is it possible that Mail.app wants PLAIN authentication?

Are there other clients available besides Mail.app?

How / where does someone find out their quota?

Sqwebmail states the percentage you use.
Im my case it says "0%". I have to 1024MB, because i am trusted (surprise

)

Once you get raised, you will be informed via email.

Is there any reason why I can't use pubbox IMAP along with my ISP's SMTP server?
