web interface & email slow?
Today I am experiencing 5-20 second delays between when I click on a FastMail link and when the page begins to load during which there is no network activity and Mozilla says "Waiting for fastmail.fm..." Usually this delay is less than one second, as it was yesterday. Loading itself is actually very fast. I'm seeing no such delays with other websites. I am on mail2.
Also, I just received a test message I sent myself 20 minutes ago. According to the header, it was stuck in server3 for the entire time. Anyone else experiencing these problems? |

Probs for me too.
Can get email from fastmail accounts but not from external accounts (non-fastmail). Even my mail which is forwarded to fastmail isn't working. I'm sure that the wonderful people behind this service are working on it and will update us as soon as there is news. |

We're working on a high load problem at the moment.
We've moved mail delivery to another server and we're seeing the queue start to clear. |

the mails i sent finally arrived, but in the past couple of weeks, this buildup seems to be happening every day at 12 or 12:30 EST. this is extremely inconvenient time for a large percentage of the customer base. any ideas why this is?

Buy a few more servers at ev1servers.net? , j/k.
Yeah, I was testing email folder and it seems very slow. Usually my mail arrive right after I send the test from other email. This time, even 5 minutes, hope it will get back to nomral soon. |

very slow response today
I am experiencing very slow response times also. It is taking 15+ seconds (and more) for every resquest I make on the web interface.

We've actually got most of the performance issues fixed now. We've added a caching layer to our mail server address rewriter, which has decreased our database load by 30%. Over the last 24 hours performance has been looking good.

Didn't understand.... What is the mail server address rewriter, and why does it take too much load? Can you give a layman answer ? |

The thing that works out what user belongs to what email address is the rewriter. It uses a lot of load because we receive so much email.
