Question What do you set as your Default Home Page? (Just Curious, informal survey)

Recently, another EMD member asked me what I set as my browser home page default. I think it'd be interesting to see some of the various web pages that people set as their home page.

I'll start:

My home page is default is:

http://www.sfgate.com

but I'm thinking about changing it to:

http://www.sfgate.com/chronicle

since I usually click on the latter fairly quickly and can easily go back to the former.

I love this question because I like finding out what other people use as their home page. It's a weird, voyeur type of thing I guess....

Mine is set on Excite and I have all the cool modules and reminders and themes set up.

At home mine is set to a http://homegrown.nettrips.net. That's just a home page I created for my husband and myself, so that we could each get to it from any computer. My own links on that one are very outdated. I need to update it a bit. At work it's our intranet site that a programmer and I put together with our phone list and other information that we use each day. Fastmail is on the link bar of all my browsers.

I always wondered about you... By the way, Gankaku was the EMD member that asked me my home page that got me the idea of starting this thread. (of course she replied first, but then again, I emailed her this thread with "what's yours?" in the subjectline).

How would you add something to your poll? Sorry if that's a dumb question...I only created 1 poll, myself

Anyway, as boring as this may sound, my default Home Page is a blank page! I just open up explorer, then decide where I want to go. I suppose I'll make the default FastMail eventually!

I have the same thing. I had dial-up for a few years and always hated to wait for a start up page to load, so I made it nothing. I actually kind of like it, so I just stuck with it. I really don't think I will ever change it.

Hi fb19,

Nice idea for a poll! It would have been great if you had added Runbox.com to the selection, however. As you know, there are a large number of people who frequent these forums and are Runbox subscribers.

I am stuck on a noisy rural dial-up connection so I don't like graphics-intensive homepages. Rather than having a blank page, however, I've set http://fast.runbox.no as my homepage. It loads in the blink of a second and enables me almost instant access to my email the second I fire up my browser.

Mine is set to "D:\portal\index.htm" - in other words, an offline custom start page I've built on my hard drive.

It's got links to all the discussion forums I participate in regularly, links to the news sites I use frequently, links to domain name and affiliate resources, links to key search engines and links to the control panels for my various sites, tools and services. It's also got a few "misc" links to things such as my local cinema listings, and so on.

I've been adding to this page for years, to the extent that I probably need to visit a "non-listed" page only once every few days - it's a BIG time-saver!
