Sounds great, but it's Windows only. Although Gmail's own notifier from Google is Windows only as well. I actually use the firefox Gmail notifier extension - Windows or Mac.

As a moderator, this is a commercial product and if you're connected to it, this post is advertising. This is in the nature of a warning.

As a Gmail user, I would not be able to see paying for a third party add on. Third party add ons can have a limited shelf life if Gmail changes something that renders them useless.

I agree. I didn't even notice that it wasn't freeware, but now I see that it isn't. Thanks for pointing it out. Definitely a no-no for me.

Also remember that GMail offers POP3 access and you can use some other standard (and free!) email checkers. And, if interested, there is also possible to check your account using the RSS feed (and any RSS aggregator of widget).

GAlert 2.1.2 (Shareware)

What's New in GAlert Version 2.1.2
1. Add HTTP Proxy support
2. Add French language support
3. Add Romanian language support
4. Automatically disable popup Desktop Alert Window, when current active window is in full screen mode, this make GAlert more friendly when users play game or watch movies.
5. Add arrow keys UP/DOWN to scroll message on Desktop Alert Window
6. Make GAlert more customizable to enable users to enable/disable certain settings when mouse over Desktop Alert Window
7. Change the new message tray icon from green to red for easier identification

mica,

A moderator has already warned you about advertising following your first post. It is against the rules of this forum to use it to advertise your product. And frankly to me, it looks like you indeed are advertising.

^ Thank you for both of your supportive statments, and I do think the moderators need to pay attention here a little bit. But I am reminded that politeness is also a rule in these forums and we should all uphold it.

Enough! Several of these posts are on the verge of breaking both the "no second-guessing the moderators" and the "politeness" rules.

We are watching. We are considering. There's no need for the "back seat driving".

Thank you.

At this stage I'm giving mica the benefit of the doubt and treating his post as advice which forum members may find useful. Please post any experience with the product in another thread.

Thanks,

JeffK
