Which email clients show toast notifications?

Are these toast notifications instantly received? Would it also display the number of messages in the taskbar and start menu?

Okay, excuse my ignorance, but what's "toast"?

A toast provides simple feedback about an operation in a small popup. It only fills the amount of space required for the message and the current activity remains visible and interactive. Toasts automatically disappear after a timeout.

The it pops up from the bottom of the screen, a motion which was very similar of a toast popping up from the toaster when ready.

This is from EasyMail for Gmail in Windows 10:

That's called a toast notification? I guess because it pops up like a toast in a toaster?

Never knew there was a special name for that.

Hmm. I thought toasts were so-named because they resemble the way a person can stand up (pop up) at a meal and make an announcement (a 'toast').

Now I don't have any links to back up my claim, but I have found that toasted bread disappears into my belly..

To me that is simply notification. Windows notification or Mac notification, depending on which platform you are using.
