Slow POP3 connection

Hi,

is there a maximum transfer speed for POP3 connection?

When I use POP3 with my e-mail client (TheBat) the connection speed is maximum 10.000 CPS

The same account with IMAP 100.000 until 125.000 CPS

I can't use TB permantly with IMAP so I have to use POP3 - protocol switching is not possible in the new 2.x version of TB...

Not very nice...

Any ideas?

Do you mind me asking jarosch...... how many emails you receive... ? This is likely non of my business but I too am interested in the answer to your question I usually have about 40 or 50 emails in my Inbox in the morning. I always use POP3 to download my mail as I prefer to use this over IMAP. My mail takes maybe one or two minutes to download (I am on a cable connection) --david

We have two connections: one DSL connection with 1 MBit and another with 3 MBit. And it takes a long long time to get it from FM - I don't know if TheBat is buggy but the differents between IMAP and POP3 looks rather like a FM "problem"

I will try it with thunderbird in the later evenig...

Hope I got an answer from FM support...

Sometimes I think it is easier to get my mails via snappermail with GPRS over my palm...

Have a nice day!
