Stuck-tune syndrome

Ever get a tune running around and around your head, which simply will not go away?

I currently have Black Moon by Emerson, Lake and Palmer, a song which I hadn't even heard of a month ago.

What does anyone do to combat this?  Some people say that using another tune to drive out the first is effective — but then of course one must take care that the second tune doesn't in its turn get stuck.

I get the song "You turn me right round baby right round" stuck in my head every time I hear it, for a while afterwards.

There is a funny joke using the song on the net and now I imagine that when I hear it as well! (The link is not appropriate for here I do not think and will not take that chance!!)

There are other songs that have this effect on me as well, with 5 children, aged from 3-12, some of the songs are sometimes annoying children's melodies from some of their favouirte televisions shows that run daily. Some of these have included: (over the years), Barney, Sesame Street, Blue's Clue's, Bear in The Big Blue House, Dora The Explorer,.... just to name a few!!

Right now I have "Almost" by Sarah Harmer going over and over in my head...so I ended up playing it over and over on Winamp. Not helping

HAHA that song pops into my head WITHOUT me hearing it sometimes.

I cannot stop singing/humming Led Zeppelins 'stairway to heaven' ...

theres a lady who is sure all that glitter is gold and she is buyying a stairway to heaven.....

I used to sing songs at work with the intent of having people getting them stuck in their head. Just my twisted sense of humor coming out there. I made lots of "friends" one day when I sang "I Think I Love You" by the Partridge Family. Within a very short while, everyone kept singing the, "ba, ba, ba, ba..." opening lines of the song.

Hahaha, like Lisa, it will pop into my head sometimes out of nowhere and stay for days at a time! And this even when I have not heard the song in months :gnaw:

I often get Robin Trower's "bridge of sighs", don't know why, though it could be worse...could have Justin Timberlake, N'sync or (God forbid) Eminem or some other crap going on...

Constantly.... normally if I hear a catchy song on the radio on the way to work, I'll be humming it all day. Just lately it's either a "Snow Patrol" or "Keane" song.

On the first night of my holiday, I saw a big Irish guy karaoke "that's amore" we were all singing it for 2 weeks!!
