I'm not getting any spam in my Vivaldi account - and I've had that account since December last.

I get very little spam in any of my numerous e-mail accounts - I must be doing something right.

Now I know more.

it is from Vivaldi or at least that is what it says as sender

She still make use of same username and the email
is in my Fastmail inbox so maybe I use vivaldi as
backup reference? I need to take a look. Nope
I use Gmail as the back up email reference.

Odd. I use gmail as backup for the mail.vivalid.com
but for the forum another username and using fastmail
as the backup if I lose password.

That mess maybe explain problem signing in?

I still does not get if one use
username password
or username@vivaldi.net a the username???

Does anybody know

I need to look into my vivaldi account and see if
fastmail is the reference if I loos password for vivaldi.

I have not logged in a long time. three weeks so
what if they have managed to break in during that time.

I should change psw ASAP on vivaldi then. I get back
when I know more. That her email return despite me
deleted it point to that they have target me???

Typical I have forgotten the psw or they have changed it?

But I could log in to Vivaldi forum and there she was again
in my "Private Messages" which also send it to my back up address
at fastmail.fm which is not good because Vivaldi has 5GB and
FM old try out account only has 25MB so it could end up getting full.

I need to find the send me the reset password link so I
can change to something more secure. In case they
figured out my too easy to guess psw.

So I am close but not secure yet.

Anyone using Vivaldi Mail on a regular basis?

TBH, I've hardly used the account since I signed up for it.

I've just been reading through the Vivaldi Mail Forum and IMHO it doesn't look very promising.

Anyone here using the service regularly and got any comments?

This does not affect any fastmail.fm free users (who kept their free account intact after no more free subscriptions have been allowed) ?

Due to the connection Fastmail and MyOpera, I'm a bit confused, even though I thought all ties between MyOpera and Fastmail were cut again.

This thread is currently 9 months old, and the original post discussed events which would be occurring 5 months in the future of that post. Fastmail Guest accounts and email services which used to be run by Opera are not related at this time (July 2014).

I thought I had answered your specific questions concerning Fastmail fee accounts near the start of this thread - see this post in this thread 9 months ago.
  • Fastmail Member (one-time fee) accounts have not been issued since December, 2008. Existing accounts continue to work (with no fees) in July, 2014.
  • In late April 2010, Opera purchased Fastmail.
  • In March 2011, Fastmail staff (who at that time were a part of Opera) started running the operamail.com email site on Fastmail servers. Operamail.com still redirects to the Fastmail.fm website as of July 2014.
  • Fastmail Guest (free) accounts have not been issued since October, 2012. Existing accounts continue to work (with no fees) in July 2014.
  • When Fastmail was part of Opera, Fastmail created the My Opera Mail service for Opera.
  • Fastmail separated from Opera in September, 2013.
  • In October, 2013, Opera announced that they would would close the My Opera Mail service in March 2014. Myopera.com closed on March 3, 2014, and that website redirects to a Opera stub page which describes that closing.
The only association between the Fastmail Guest (free) account and My Opera Mail is that Fastmail suggested that persons wishing to obtain new free email accounts after the October 2012 closing of new Fastmail Guest accounts might want to look at the free My Opera Mail service (which was closed by Opera 17 months later).

Red face Google demanding passwords, then ignoring

Without warning or explanation, Google has demanded password to access Gmail, but refuses to accept any and all passwords provided, inclusion "new password" submitted. Impossible to gain access to their site, the occasional person contacted made promises, but failed to follow up.

Suggest Gmail be avoided. Apparently there is a five-year pattern of password demands and account cancellation, again without warning or any explanation.
