FTP Problems

I assume you are using an App password, and have verified that it exists as expected. Also, that you are connecting through ftp.fastmail.com. I suggest you try deleting and recreating the App password to ensure you and FastMail are in agreement over the correct password.

It's connecting and transferring successfully about 25% of the time so I don't think the password is the problem but I'll try resetting it anyway, can't hurt.


edit: unsurprisingly, it hasn't helped.

Turns out they now have a new ftp server and it looks like they're only monitoring that one as they were unaware of any problem with the old one.
New one is connecting without issue.

Oh. That change was Implemented several years ago - I am not surprised they are no longer monitoring messagingengjne.com

You might also want to check/change all servers you are using
IMAP.fastmail.com
SMTP.fastmail.com
WebDAV.fastmail.com
LDAP.fastmail.com
etc...
