The latest versions of SquirrelMail are 1.4.23 and 1.5.2. I don't know what version is available at coakmail. SquirrelMail was one of the first webmail packages I used. Lately I've considered for a moment to d/l and install it again. I particularly liked being able to install any plugin if I wanted to and configure the interface any way I wanted to.
