Microsoft is now offering a 60% discount for legacy G Suite people switching to Microsoft 365 business plans, according to this article in the Verge: https://www.theverge.com/2022/2/10/2...gacy-customers

Zoho is offering 30% of their plans, you just have to get the free trial first.

We are loving Zoho as a Gmail replacement.

There's discussion over on Reddit, some useful information once you've separated the wheat from the chaff:

Sometimes it's hard to separate the two on Reddit! One thing this situation has pointed out to me is how even somewhat more sophisticated email users (they were using G Suite) are pretty uninformed about email in general, and many of them don't want to do their own research--they want someone to tell them what is the best thing to do. The problem is that each person's situation is slightly different. With email services there is no one-size fits all solution available or required. I've participated in some of these threads but they are quite frustrating because one person needs a one-person solution while another person has dozens of people using a domain for a club or something, and having been using a free service nobody wants to pay anything!

The date when legacy G Suite accounts will be moved automatically to paying accounts has been pushed back a month to June 1. https://www.androidpolice.com/google...rkspace-month/

I've also shifted to Zoho for my backup email.
This move by Google to remove the Legacy accounts was the nudge I needed to exit from Google.

There's a few tweets going around today, saying that Google have put out this form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...BKGeA/viewform

I've passed the details on to Google Workspace, to ask if this form is legitimate, and currently waiting for a response.

Update: The form was put out by Google. You have to be already logged into your Legacy account (only, not also a Gmail account) to see the link in this page for the 'G Suite legacy free edition feedback form':

https://support.google.com/a/answer/...e-subscription

Here's a link to a screencap, showing the (highlighted) link:

https://i.postimg.cc/xTCP4Yfh/link-for-google-form.jpg

The form (IMHO) doesn't look all that professional, with no Google branding shown, plus the form says:

Quote:
Please complete the following form if you have 10 seats or less
10 seats?
Has anyone received feedback on this? Does the form and/or the option still show up? I think it may have disappeared.

I've not received any feedback, that form has disappeared, the link has gone, but I've seen this closed form link:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...GeA/closedform

Without comparing word for word it seems to me that Google keeps editing things on their pages explaining the upcoming changes.

A link in an email from Google says:
"If you want the no cost option, you need to join this waiting list in the Google Admin console before June 1,..." and a link is provided in that sentence.

However when I click the link and it takes me to my Admin Console, I can't see any reference to joining such a waiting list.
Has anyone else managed to join this waiting list for the no cost option?

In my Admin Console it says:

Quote:
Act now and switch to Google Workspace
Your access to the G Suite legacy free edition will end soon. As a valued customer, you're eligible to switch now to a new Google Workspace subscription and enjoy a special discount. Or, in the coming weeks, you'll be able to join a waitlist for a no-cost option. If you take no action by Jun 1, 2022, we'll automatically transition you to the recommended Google Workspace subscription.
I've underlined a relevant sentence.

Thanks FredOnline.

I guess I just wait to what arises "in the coming weeks" - keep checking in at the Admin page.

As a 'valued customer', I can't wait to see what I'm offered!

Apparently there is a "waiting list" now for the "no-cost" version of G Suite, whatever that will include.

Quote:
If you want the no cost option, you need to join this waiting list in the Google Admin console before June 1, 2022, so your account is not automatically upgraded to Google Workspace. Those on the waiting list will remain on the G Suite legacy free edition until the no-cost option is available. Once the no-cost option is available, we’ll be in touch with more details on what will happen to your account. You will have 60 days to evaluate the no-cost option or choose Google Workspace before any changes are made to your account.

If you change your mind after you join the waiting list for the no-cost option, you’ll still be able to upgrade to Google Workspace at any time.

Choose your transition path

Using this link: https://admin.google.com/?action_id=SE_SELF_TRANSITION

I was given the option for personal use, which I selected:

Looks like this is going out to all Legacy account users from today.
