Service Status 05.03 - 08:30 CET
One of our file servers (Greyhound) unexpectedly went down and had to be restarted, and some users will not be able to open their messages until it has finished initializing its disk partitions to verify data consistency.
Most users will be able to log in and open their email, but system performance will be lower than normal. The service should be back to normal within a few hours, but it's difficult to estimate how long it will take. New and more stable hardware is on the way to replace the current file servers. We apologize for the inconvenience on behalf of Greyhound. - Geir |

looks like the server is down down. 8hrs is a bit too much to restart one server - even restarting mainframe takes much less time

For the record, I'm as disappointed as anyone with the frequent problems lately. But I interpreted the comment as a bit of levity, not blame. --Jason |

Update: The server is working through its particions
17.40 ECT the server is still working steadily through some of its particions to ensure consistency.
The server went down while in production, and this is why it has to work through some of the particions in their entirety. Most likely they will be just fine, but the server still insists on verifying all data. There are three particions of 250 GB each, the first is very close to de done now. We are sorry for the delay. runbox's terms of service
6. INDEMNIFICATION You will indemnify and hold harmless runbox, their employees, directors, officers, agents, and their successors and assigns from any damages and expenses relating to the use of your account. shortly, you pay and have no right... and runbox, when they have a good day, make things work - no guaranteed uptime... moving next door tomorrow. I rather sacrifice runbox's unique webmail interface for poorer, 'generic' IMP, but my webhosting provider at least guarantee 99.7% uptime or money back... |

Well, I've tried sending emails to my account and they don't turn up in the webmail inbox, and I don't get an email bounced retort, so I think they are falling into a black hole.
This is really, really, rubbish. My first year with Runbox was error-free, so what the hell has happened? I feel a complete idiot now for paying for 3 years of access. |

"Your mails are temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."? Then your account is down. Btw. does anybody know how many accounts are affected? They mails should be queued and later delivered when your account is up again. Quote:
