Same here, I never access my account from someone else's computer, only my own, or my mobile device. I never log out.

Angry Terrible news

I chose Fastmail for the features and interface. If all I wanted was reliable servers and flashy-but-crippled webmail I could have chosen other, less expensive, services. This is really depressing.

Also, not mentioning this change on blog.fastmail.com is beyond disappointing. It seems Fastmail really doesn't care about long time customers. I should have known better.

Again, you blame fastmail, but the customers use certain features, and other features are largely not used. Your favourite features are not used by too many others and therefore are discontinued. If you want to blame someone, blame other customers for not liking same features. Fastmail is absolutely listening to the majority. You are mad because you are in the minority. But don't blame fastmail, they are listening to their customers. They just cannot do everything every customer wants.

For those in the minority, they have added in a few features and have shown how to do things they did before, either with work arounds, or with shortcuts. Unfortunately users here seem unwilling to use the workarounds or shortcuts, because it is not exactly the same way they are used to.

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm afraid this is not on our immediate roadmap, however we will take your suggestion onboard in our future product planning.

Regards.
:/

and all I am looking for for features are two things..
1) always present folder counts (new/total)
aligned to right margin as it is in the ClassicUI, which can be done as an optional setting so that its not present for those that disliked it

2) the empty link on the Trash folder.
simple and easier to use then having to select all manually and perm. delete.

The advantage I see with the two click process is that it is more intentional. There is no need for a "Are you sure?" confirmation.

lol... it requires at least two clicks regardless of whether its the
NewUI or the ClassicUI...

well actually three clicks for the NewUI..
1) Clicking to switch to the Trash folder.
2) Clicking on the select all button.
3) Clicking the delete permanently button.

Hmm. I never delete the trash. Mine is set to auto delete anything deleted 30 days ago. No fuss.

I am beyond disappointed with FastMail
always visible folder counts as (new/total) for me is NEEDED
but they are being impossible about it...

Every option is another code path to test and maintain. We will not be implementing these, sorry.

No, Joe, you are demanding your own way and you are being impossible. Fastmail is not here to do your bidding.

I suggest you edit your post and delete your link. That's your own private communication with fast mail, and it reveals your personal email address. That's private communication and should not be dealt with in this way.

You don't get people to do something they don't want to do by kicking and screaming and saying you are disappointed, and mad mad mad mad face over and over. There is an art to negotiation, which I suggest you may benefit from studying.

What you are doing is beyond unprofessional.

Unhappy

They removed one of FastMail's best features...

and of course I'm getting chewed out.. go figure.. lol
so I'm being emotional big deal

except we are all PAYING CUSTOMERS now!

don't we get some say in what happens with FastMail considering putting food on their tables and paying their bills DEPENDS on our happiness with FastMail and our staying with FastMail long term.. As I may have mentioned before at some point, I've been with FastMail since 2003 and this is my main so I'm not going anywhere else..

my opening statement in that ticket was fine and reasonable.

I am sad the classic UI is being retired...
It means the world to me to have it...

if the feature of showing the folder numbers (new/total) could be
integrated into the
new UI, that would be great.... and if any other Classic UI feature
could be integrated
as well that would also be great and make using it more familiar to me.
