Solved: File into + redirect = extra copy in inbox

Yay!

Today we just upgrade all our imap servers to the latest version of cyrus, which includes the "copy" extension

http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc3894.html

This allows us to make a small change to the generated sieve scripts that means that the previous bug where when a "file into folder" rule and a "forwarding" rule matched the same email, you'd also end up with a copy in the inbox is now easily solveable!

At the moment, I have not yet gone and regenerated all the sieve scripts, so for the moment to fix this you'll have to do it manually by going to Options -> Define Rules and clicking the Done button. That's all, that will regenerate your script with the new code that should fix this problem.

Can I just say "yay!" again, this has been one of those long, long, long term niggling bugs that has just been really annoying...

Let me be the first to thank you for this, Rob. I've now set up a backup forwarding service for my FM email. Finally!

I appreciate your addressing longstanding issues like this one. Now just add auto-bcc in the webmail interface, and I'll be a very happy camper.
