New user FastMail.fm
Just a note to say how very pleased I am with FastMail .fm.As a newcomer I am sure that I will have questions.
I think that I have tried most of the better mail services, and find that yours is by far the best. I have used the Eudora system for years, still love it. Your program seems also very fitted to my needs, especially while traveling. I really appreciate your user forums for folks like myself who usually have a lot of questions.A great place for answers. Thank you and good luck with your future efforts for this venture. ![]() |

Fastmail as a research tool
I'm doing my PhD, and the fact is, as I move between PCs and multiple mail accounts for my different professional activities, Fastmail is simply the best of many attempts over the years I've had to manage different sorts of data between different sites. Being able to upload my valuable data securely, make on the fly notes, store email, and easily tranfer it through your file management system is fantastic. Because it's my space online, I seem to remember where everything is, and searching is a breeze if I can't. It's become my knowledge base and being able to allow people different forms of access to files is wonderful.
While I can get access to my university's system through, it's not the same -- Fastmail is up 99.9% of the time, I don't need a special client, and your spam filtering is excellent. Larry Stillman Monash University |

Welcome to the forums book-biz and Larry. Larry, your Uni carries the name of a really outstanding Australian. I am reading a biography of him ATM.

Sorry, book-biz, after welcoming you above I see that you have been a member here longer than I have. Larry, I think you may have broken the record for the longest time between posts in a thread!

^ According to the date program I entered into my calculator, there were 1206 days between the first two posts on this thread -- that's 3 years, 111 days (the latter is 3.7 months)!
![]() I agree, this is probably the most extreme case of "night of the living thread" that these forums have ever seen! ![]() (If anyone wants the date algorithm I use — it's very useful, not only for differences between dates but also for figuring out the day of the week — reply here and I'll post it to the Off-Topic Lounge.) |
