Are you going directly to
www.gmail.com to log in when using a web browser on another computer? Then enter the known email address and password. If you get a message that the password is no good, have you followed the directions there to recover access? There is an option to click on there if you "Forgot password." Click on that and you can enter the last password you remember to begin the account recovery process.
