I think this was not clear enough in my initial thread post:

I mean: Change the main domain from .com to a more meaningful top level domain.

All the others would still work (.com, .us, .no, ..) but the main domain should be something more meaningful than .com(ercial). .mail would be great, but that TLD was rejected by ICAN back in 2004.
