Staying logged in

So after 14 years with FastMail recent changes there have made me lean towards jumping ship and I'm currently evaluating Runbox. I basically like it a lot but one thing is seriously holding me back: the lack of the incredibly convenient "keep me logged in" feature that FM and basically every other provider have. I've seen from Runbox that this is for security reasons but I don't see how it makes sense. Since I'm obviously not going to manually type in my user name/Password every time I want to check my mail, this just means I'll have to save them locally in my browser (or email client) instead. Isn't this even worse from a security perspective than staying logged in using a local cookie?

Also, is it just that I can't find it or does Runbox really not have the very basic "edit as new" feature on an open email?
