Labels not IMAP compliant?

I noticed labels support coming and I'm very happy about it.

However — JMAP is not supported in email clients yet. I use MailMate, I don't use the web interface and good IMAP support is why...

I'm using a desktop email client (MailMate) and the native Apple Mail on iOS.

I want to send emails to one of my aliases that get saved to a certain IMAP directory. Think of it like Notes. However...
